Why The “Pick a Niche” Advice Backfires

Whenever I speak to a health or wellness professional about building an online business, they often say the same thing…

They say no one ever told them how hard it would be to market themselves, get clients, and build a sustainable business. 

If they did get some kind of “business training,” at best they were told to build a website, get some business cards printed, and network.  (And they soon realized how useless that advice was.)  

And it doesn’t matter what kind of training you have or how successful you’ve been in a clinic or practice. Because none of that is what helps you get new clients when you transition online.

So many coaches and practitioners go out into the online world with high hopes … and flounder.  

If they happen to find their way to someone who says they help coaches with their marketing, the first thing they’re usually told to do is pick a niche.  Unfortunately, a lot of people go down that road and still struggle to get clients.
